YOU make a difference!

November 4, 2015

calm2Mark your calendar now for November 17! Our Negotiations team will be meeting with the BOE team and the Fact Finder that evening and we are asking for your support again to stand with signs from 6 to 6:30.

Your presence at the meetings, and the picketing before, sends a strong message to the board and community that we are not backing down! At this point, Willingboro is the only district in the county for the 14-15 year, and one of seven for this year, without a settled contract. We need to keep the pressure on and continue to send the message that we want a fair and equitable settlement.

Did you complete the most recent WEA Technology Survey (10/23)?  Click the link, take a moment and fill out the survey. Dr. Taylor and upper admin insist all of the technology  issues have been addressed or entered int0 School Dudes. Please help WEA provide the most accurate information.

If you have not yet registered your email address with the new WEA email address, please do so by contacting WEA at: weaofficers@gmail.com

In addition, students will record their feelings, reactions and experiences in a reflective journal. Dance, art, photography, video, and music will be used showcase the students’ experiences.

During the school district’s science fair, the students will make a presentation about their experiences.  A guest speaker from the N.J. Division of Fish and Wildlife address the school community during an assembly of grades three, four, and five.

September 14, 2014

The WEA Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) expired on June 30, 2014.  Included in the language is a timeline for conducting staff evaluations. Although the new evaluation system has its own timeline, because we are currently working under an expired CBA, our timelines are still valid.  Therefore, evaluations will be conducted based on the timeline described in the CBA and as outlined in the Evaluation Memo 2014-2015 from Human Resources

GCN Training-Completion Date Changed to 10/15

August 23, 2014

The WEA has been informed that last week at the Principals Symposium it was announced that all GCN training MUST be completed by OCTOBER 15, 2014.
Since the date is so close to the beginning of the school year, we reached out to Central Administration to clarify the date change (from January 15 last year).  Below you will find the response that was received from HR regarding GCN.
“Yes that is correct the due date is October 15th. As I understand staff members have plenty to do for the new year it is also the position of the district to make sure staff members are properly training to ensure the safety of children and staff members. These trainings are not negotiable. As I’m sure you understand staff members must know their rights and policies and procedure to federal & state laws. Therefore we’re able to avoid problematic issues during the year.”

Therefore, it is required that all staff complete GCN by the October 15 deadline.
